The 5sec delay for the dialog box on pendulum calc is probably your computer. On a Win8.1 system running GM 2.3015, with my tower clock sim loaded (~106Mbyte gth file) the dialog pops up instantly. I'll try it again when I get home with my Win10 system.

No popup delay of pendulum length dialog on a Win10 machine. Same Gearotic version and loaded tower clock sim as my last message.

I closed Gearotic and re-started it. No delay with the Pendulum Calc dialog box this time. Who knows how these goofy things work? ::)
Re: Looking for advise from clock bilders
Still having problem in gerotic in making my gear train 1min to 60 min. Art I did what you told me to do and I still get gears huge 33inch also 50. I even tried using calculator and chose 8" and then went to auto train and still get large sizes. this is what I entered recoil escapement 30teeth ad to project clicked on circular gears went to auto chose 2 pair 1min to 60 min search, chose one of the gear ratios add to project clicked on escapement shaft gears appear moved to top of escapement click and there are my gears when I click on one of them it sais it had outside dia of 30 something or 50 something. now when I try it in calculate I chose 8" it tells me it has to change the dp I say ok it changes dp but mod is something like 14 I even tried to type in lower number in mod but nothing works still large gears. help thanks Don

Don:
Is your Gearotic set to metric instead of inches? Just a thought.

Don:
The smaller the Mod,(or the larger the DP) the smaller the gears. Set a MOD of 1.0, then hit regen. Then do the auto train, your gears should be much smaller. As Mark suggested, make sure your set to Inch mode, not metric
is you want inch gears. It is the nature of the beast than such ratios require gears with a large number of teeth
so you need to use small MODs to get them small enough at times.. BUT..if you use too small a MOD, youll need
very small bits to bit in the teeth. Generally, do not go smaller than mod 2 or so.. and even that would need
a small bit. The MOD is basically the mm's a single tooth is, the DP is how many teeth fit into an inch.. You wont
be able to cut anything smaller than about a 2 MOD or a 12DP .. but it doesn't hurt to try various settings
taking note of the effect. Note the difference in the diameter of particular gears when you change MOD...
