Clock indicator machining

Post by Dan Mauch »

I am unhappy with the selections of purchased hour and minute hands for clocks. I just discovered Indicators in GM3.01. I think I know how I would machine them by sandwiching the indicator stock between thin sheets of sheet metal and using a very small end mill. Is there a better way?

Dan,
I haven't tried this, but you might try sandwhiching the stock between scraps of MDF or ply. Probably saves a dollar and might reduce wear and tear on the tool.
