Can Mach3 take spindle encoder signals and use them to control a linear axis for threading?
If it can, then it can use the spindle encoder signals to control a rotary axis for hobbing.
It's not the same as EMC2 (LinuxCNC), but close...

Interestingly, Andy Pugh is one of the developers of LinuxCNC (formerly EMC2), while Art is the developer of Mach.
