gears and guidelines

Post by Mezalick »

Greetings,
I have just registered for the forum and starting to using the program.

Two quick questions,
Is it possible to have guidelines added to the gear layout / placement area  ( which I guess is the "Project Screen" ?) ?

and is it possible to create a gear that has not only a collar ( which I understand how to do ) but also an outer ring as in the picture?

Thanks in advance , I'm sure I'll have many other questions.

Hi:

Im not sure what you mean by "outer ring", do you mean the way the spokes are recessed in the outer rim?

I do intend on offering the capability to do such things, but it will some time till I get there.. It will be part of a new module, which wont be written
until  a few other things are complete.

I cant add guidelines per say to the project screen, though I could add ore information during the placement. At the moment,
the screen should tell you the angle from the gear your placing to the one being placed upon, and I can add uch things as the x,y coordinates if that
would help.
