Hi Art
Is it possible to change the tooth depth of an escapement wheel? From drawings and escapement cutter data (Graham type) a wheel of thirty teeth and a diameter of 1.42" should have a tooth depth of around 0.16", Gearotic makes it around 0.1".
I think (may be a senior moment) depth box changed tooth depth in an earlier version, but does not in latest development

Escapement tooth depth
Re: Escapement tooth depth
Hi David
I tried the same and the Ratchet Depth didn't work for me either.

Re: Escapement tooth depth
Hi Guys:
Ive recently found a few bugs that may be related.. such as pulley and sprocket text not showing up
on the screen. Ill investigate and fix that up..
Thx

Re: Escapement tooth depth
Hi Guys:
Just checked.. I had forgotten how that was all set up. :)
OK, the Depth parameter ont he screen is the end thickness of the ratchet. So a 25 for example
woudl be a ratchet 25mm thick. SO its not somethign youd see on the screen until its created into the project.
The depth of the ratchet's teeth is not a user definable one. Its numbers come from the British Horological instructions for creating a ratchet for the recoil or graham escapements. The specification calls for certain angles from geometrical points.
Its not easily changable to allow variable depths.. its more a list of how to get each point as a relationship
the the previous point in the chain. I will add this as a wish list item though. Its not like its impossible or anything,
just not a bug.
I will be releaseing a fiox version shortly to fix the pulley and sprocket text however..
Thx
