Where do I find point distance

I have been cutting some gears on a laser and want to play with the point distance and I could not find it, has it been removed as an user settable option?

Hi Kim:

  Yes, the algorithms were made more sensible as to distance so that in either metric or imperial they are reasonable.
It stopped a lot of problems with support ,I rarely hear of anyone needing tighter res these days..

Tough if you do need tighter tolerances, I can look at ways to up your count..

Art,
  I was thinking of reducing the number of nodes as I was cutting this in plastic with a laser. As you can see in this attached picture I manually reduced the number of nodes on one side of the gear. The problem with so many nodes it is difficult to fine tune the cutting speed and get a clean edge. I am just playing with all the available options for now.

  Im surprised you can see the nodes.. on mine the cut flys pretty quick and IO cant see any
of them. Is this a Laser DSP driver of some sort? Chinese K40?

  I have the epilog laser and the program I imported the gears is Coreldraw. Depending on the laser setting it does different things like speeds on curves vs straight line and small mod gear teeth cuts cleaner with fewer nodes.

  Ahh, an epilog,generally the best one out there. Nice machine. I think your going about it right, play
around with all settings you can find till you find one to smooth it out. The nodes in Gearotic if reduced
much more than default will take away from the curvature, Id try to see if you can find a way to tell Corel
to bezier the curve, that should speed it up Id think..
