Milling Internal Gear

I would like to machine a pinion (4th axis) and internal gear (2.5D) with a 2mm endmill.  I would like this to be low backlash, and have a relatively high reduction with the internal gear being aprox 8" in diameter.

How should I play with the settings in order to achieve this goal?

Hi:

  Well, the 8" is easy, thats just a matter of changing DP after youve decided on the actual reduction.
One thing to note though, 4th axis generation doesnt do a great job on trochoidal roots, which means
its advisable to keep the tooth count of the pinion above 12 ( which is the standard spur recommendation
form most gear makers.).

  I will be ading a radial rooting pattern soon to aid in getting trochoids cleared, but Id really advise
12 teeth as minimum on the pinion. That means the internal gear will need quite a few teeth if you want a high
reduction...
