On a CNC lathe, C-axis is indexing control of the spindle. Used when milling with live tooling in the turret. With Y-axis on the turret you can mill off-center.

Bog standard cheapish Chinese 1kW fiber laser.

Wow, 1kw fibre eh? How long for the cut for gears like those?
I was looking at fibre lasers and wondering what that experience would be like..
