Virtual XP

Hello Art -
I recently got myself up and going with the latest release of your awesome GT program. On my Windows7 pc, all is well. But my shop computer is a linux OS (Ubuntu) that I use to run EMC2 to drive my machines. To avoid running back and forth between the house and the garage (aka my shop), I have VirtualBox installed on the linux computer. In VB I have a virtual WindowsXP sp3 install that I use to run all manner of programs, half of which are too old to run on Windows7. So I plan to keep the old XP going, at least for now. Anyway, GT installed into the virtual XP with no problems. And it seams to start and come up fully. But then, before I can do anything, I get the error dialog (see attached). And it is one of those deals where it will never go away, no matter how many times you click the OK button. I can only escape by killing the whole thing with 'end process' through the task manager. I imagine my setup is not common. But just the same, is there a fix?

Hi Flirn:

This is an OpenGL issue, one where a code is being used that your virtual XP doesnt like. This usually relates to video
card drivers, in fact Ive seen it on systems where the vieo driver is simply too old. Any chance an update of the video driver woudl cure it?

OK Art - Thanks for the quick answer and advice. I will look into the video setup on that computer. And for the time being I will stick with the 'sneaker-cad'... from the house to the garage back to the house, and so forth.
