Hi Art,
For some reason my default Z is 8 inches and I can edit the G code but I can't find where to make a universal default for Z rapids, which I would like to be 1.0 or even 0.75.
I now have a FidgetMaster Midi at home - joy!

Hi John:
Are we speaking Safe_Z ( on the menu bar of the workbench on top), or another Z setting?

Hi John:
( The Safe_Z is the bottom box..)
It seems your screen is just that annoying size where the ribbon removes the labels, yet doesnt shrink the
box to a dropdown one. For a moment, resize the program to be smaller in the X ..just drag it smaller , the ribbon will change to drop down boxes with labels so you can see whats what. This is a bug in Microsofts initial release of the ribbon system. It affects those screens with low X resolution or a low DPI setting for their screen. Im still trying to find a way to stop it, but its a well know error with Ribbons. Im hoping over time all those low resolution systems go away.. or I manage to find a solution that works for all.
( Quick poll.. how many of you have the same problem where the labels disappear and what is your screeen resolution?)
I believe normally as long as the screen is higher than 1280xheight it will display properly, 1280 and below will have an issue. These days 1280 is a pretty small resoltuion.

Hi Art,
I was working on my shop (dusty and dirty and sometimes subject to physical encounters) computer which is a $200 second hand Windows XP job which does all I want and the associated display is likewise second hand that I purchased for $89 an again except in rare instances does what it needs to. As to actual resolution I don't know - sorry.
My "inside" computer is a MacBook Air and I run the program on Parallels and Windows XP the computer screen resolution is 1440 X 900. This Mac has no problem telling me what the labels are.

Art,
Display is as you mention, needs to be above 1280 to display fully.

Hi Guys:
Most gearotic people tend to read most messages over time, so we'll just ask that they post if they have this problem here. If enough do Ill see if I can redesign that screen so try to eliinate the issue , which probably attacks this screen primarily. I always go by the theory that for every person who reports a problem, 10 others have it too, so I'll see if its justified to change in the fall by monitoring this thread.
Unfortunatley, the ribbon is hard coded by me as XP didnt have a ribbon designer as the new compilers do. So Im reticent to redesign
it if it affect only few machines.
Thx
Art
