Backlash in GT

Post by SkyMoBot »

I thought I asked this years ago or maybe it's covered in one of the videos but I'll ask it again.

GM had a backlash setting when placing gears, I don't think GT does.  What I don't remember is what I am supposed to do if I want a little bit of slop in my gear train.  If there is a video I need to review just point it out.

Hi:

We used to do backlash by moving a shaft a small distance away, but that was a poor way to do it, I now recommend you
set the tooth width to .49 or .48 and lower for slop.. except in non-circulars, where tooth width is the tooth of the hob,
so you increase it for slop. :)
