why it might occur. I just retired here, turns out my Win7 was in copmat mode, without it, it too doesnt display text. With compatability mode, it works fine. ( I Really dont like Win7 a whole lot more than Vista.. ( which I despise..) :)
As far as which OS is best that is easy to answer... The one you use the most is the best because you are simply more comfortable with it. For the amount of time and pain you have gone trough with XP and how well you must know all of its quirks you will probably still be using it in 20 years.... ;D
Now when I run XP I really do see the differences and appreciate the new software very much.
I Had to work on a Win 98 machine a few months back.... I used to think it was the greatest... boy what a dog!
