I'm trying to add 3rd wheel in my design with circle1 spokes and program crashes every time. With standard spokes I have no problem....Any suggestions?
Vista, latest GM, Epicyc gears, M0.5, metric, Spokes Circle1, 5 circles, (10,10,20)
Circular spokes = crash

Re: Circular spokes = crash
Hi Tola:
Its likely that some very small area in the spokes are overlapping themselves. This shouldnt create a crash, but unfortunately this has been known to happen because the extrusions are done with a licensed library that has a few crash bugs in it. We are working on replacing that library with our own more bug free code in the near future. In the meantime, try increaseing the boss ratio, or the number of spokes or any setitng that changes their look.. look at them carefully to ensure that they look possible and no lines overlap..that will probably stop the crash.
Thx

Ok, thanks. Is there a way to see (or change) what values I used on existing wheels?
Re: Circular spokes = crash
Hi:
Not in terms of spokes, once generatoed there is no information
in the database that can tell what was used. You can select a gear
and press "Send to Design" for the other parameters, but unfortunately
there is no way to check what was used.
The newer code being written will allow for spokes to be changed on the fly
even in a project.. wont be out till fall though..
Thx
