Version 4.89 released

Post by ArtF »

Hi All:

This version repairs a bug where circles could appear in the GCode for various gears with spokes.
It also includes a new version of GT which has the capability of changing the shaft holes dynamically from
circles of various diameters to squares, pentagons, hexagons etc..

GT:

When selecting a gear in the project tree( which can be sorted in multiple ways ) the objects properties
are displayed now in the 3d properties dialog. Once selected you may re-extrude the object with changes youve made
to its properties. If , for any reason the gear fails to extrude, is name will be highlighted in RED on the tree,
indicating you have data, but there is a crossover or other deficiency in the data. Usually this means the changes youve
made , such as shaft hole size, may have invalidated the objects ability to extrude. Try rextruding after fixing the problem.

Right clicking on the gears name will allow for STL export. You may also import any STL's from other sources, and re-export them
as this can sometimes fix an STL that you may be having trouble loading in some other program. I have done this with
several stl's my 3d printer wouldnt recognize and this fixed that error due to GT's exportation fixing errors as it saves. GT will,
in the end allow for manipulation of much more than gears, so if you have a budda or wrench that has trouble, GT can repair some things
on the fly.

You may now simulate motion as well, BUT take note that noncirculars and escapements do not yet properly simulate.
I include GT now as the ability to get good STL's and change shaft types is something that may be usefull to some users, but  the program doesnt have much to offer as yet for other operations. Its early on and theres a long road ahead for it. :-)

Thx, have fun
Art
