Status Update

Post by ArtF »

Hi Guys:

Just another status post. The update is coming along, though a bit slower than Id hoped. This is because as I go
Im checking specs as tighly as I can, it involves more research time that Id thought. For example, my epicycloidal
gears were pretty bad when compared to the swiss standards for such gears. Heres a snapshot of what our epi's should
have looked like and now do.  While I have found and corrected a few smaller discrepancies with the other modules
rewritten so far, the EPI's were pretty far off the mark. These new Epi's should be more in line with what any
clockmakers desire.

Thx

Hi Art,
The new epicycloidals look really neat.  I'll try and wait without bugging - but its not easy.

John:

:) , Ill release a new GT as soon as I figure its minimally usable, if for nothing else than Id like to know those who want
cycloidal gearing will get proper swiss specification for them. I always feel kind of bad when I find my information was inaccurate
as to expected specs.. So with all the fixes Ive done so far, as soon as the new program can at least offer some output types
Ill put out a new version, but Gcode will likely be the last item I do due to its "Bitch" level of complexity. :)

Just an update note. Ill be releaseing a technology test of GT in a week or so I think, its a test to see how the new GUI and gear creation/placement
code works on all your machines. It will be limited as there is no CNC output module as yet, but it can create and place most circular types of gears,
and create and save STL's as well as print on paper. It has statistics and very nice bevels, helical and EPI's. You can even have a epi-bevl or helical epi
if you wish.  The release will be primarily so I know if screen sizing or text will be an issue for anyone.

Thx
