Art,
This time during install i selected both 64bit and 32bit redistributables. Noticed shortcut icon for GT changed from the 'Arrow over Earth' to a black background GM shortcut icon'. And that the about window shows V1.02 and that its licensed to me, did not show this before.
All buttons in GUI are working now.

Thanks,
Troy

Hi Art,
I'm having some trouble with GT.  I've downloaded twice and installed using 32 bit only, 64 bit only and both.  The program opens fine and the Version is 1.02.
When I go to add anything to the yellow screen I get the following error.

Hi Guys:

  Couple notes:

YOu need only to select 32 or 64 bit redistributables once , and never again really. It installs the C++ runtimes for youre machine. Use 64 if your a 64 bit machine, 32 otherwise. You can uncheck them in future after youve odne this once. Soon they will not be seen and it will
all be done ion the background.

If you have trouble running anything you see in the video's, please yell so I can see abotu getting that fixed. I do expect many minor
system specific type of bugs while this all gets tested out. GM had similar torubles early on as well.

Thx

Everything installed great. I like the indicators! If we design our own, will there be a way to add them to GT's library? Or, possibly post them and you add them?

Thanks

Hi Bob:

Yes, I am looking into makiung it possible for you to add, or send to us to have added new pointers and spokes. ( and other shapes as well.)

NOTE:  Im looking into the freezing issues on the various types.

PS:  We have one vote for 4th axis for next module, how do others feel about that being the next priority

Thx

Hi Art,
Since I don't have 4th axis or a 3D printer (yet) my vote is for the list as you originally presented it.

Hi Art,
I downloaded the latest 1.02 and tried it - when I went straight to try and add a circular gear I got the same error message as before  so I rebooted the program and this time tried the buttons on the top menu bar to see what would work for me  and not crash the program.  everything on the top bar worked fine.  I checked style and version - all OK.
I went to indicators on the tools screen and that worked - after that everything worked.

So I have no idea what I did that made the program happy I only know that both me and the program are happily working.

I wish I could tell you what made it right.

Hi John:

Thx, looks like a display error on my part for some reason, but Im sure it will become obvious over time so I can kill it.
I think it wont take long before such errors show themselves better.

As to 4th axis or escapement, Im still considering. I may make the 4th axis work as before , with some
graphics to indicate whats its doing, then revisit after the other gear types are done. One of the problems
with 4th ais is its very very hard to actually show tootlpaths that make sense to people... most have great trouble
wrapping their mind around that extra axis... So Im still thinking... :)
