Verion 2.295 Online
Verion 2.295 Online
Hi All:
Ok, I had to fix up a few things, but generally this is just a few internal checks and error messages, no need
generally to download if your up to 2.292.
A new board was added for anyone to report webcam confidence levels on, or anything about how the stereo
unit works for you. Tell me anything about your system I may need to know. It all goes to help the next iteration of the
module in the fall.
Also, if you know people with 3d printers, send them a link to us, the Stereo Module is the first free module in Gearotic,
it may be used and STL's may be saved for printing and such. This module needs no license file. It my hope that with more people testing such a module it will get better quicker simpy from more data.
Thx, back to my summer break.. :)

Re: Verion 2.295 Online
This is great Art.
I was talking about this to a couple of my friends at the local maker space Maker-Works in awesome Ann Arbor. And nobody got too excited until I explained how you were doing it. There are lots of folks that come in there looking for a simple 3d scanner and this will definitely fit the bill. They have a couple that are much more complicated. I send Dale a link. I bet this sees some action. Enjoy the summer.
BTW:You at CNC workshop this year?

Re: Verion 2.295 Online
Installing this latest version (2.295) still shows in the About as 2.281. Is that accurate? I'm just checking that my install actually worked.
Re: Verion 2.295 Online
no, the ? should show 2.295 ..
I have heard of updateing trouble, so log out , then back in and try again, the program may be hung in memory or something..

Re: Verion 2.295 Online
Your message about the minor update crossed mine. I reinstalled that one (which said during install 2.294.1) and with a couple of restarts for good measure it runs and now shows under the ? as 2.295
Sorry for the false alarm.

Re: Verion 2.295 Online
Hi All:
Version is now bumped to 2.296 on install and program. Turns out Win7 was having issues with STL output due to tesselation differences between the two systems. This is repaired and Win8 should be fine. Also, at request, ( and because I wanted it), a depthmap output button is now onscreen for use on lasers to engrave on the cnced faces or other objects.
This saves a bitmap with a grey scale from white ( higest point) to black ( lowest).

Re: Verion 2.295 Online
I posted a link on the printrbottalk.com forum, hopefully you'll get some good feedback from somebody there. At least two of the moderators have gearotic licenses.ArtF wrote: Also, if you know people with 3d printers, send them a link to us, the Stereo Module is the first free module in Gearotic,

Enjoy that summer vacation; with luck you've been able to put your snow shovels away by now.
