Update Installation Procedure Question

Post by marklazarz »

When a new release of Gearotic is available, should the old version be deleted before installing the new version or should the new version be installed on top of the old version?

Your always safe to install over top, I try to ensure Gearotic uses no resources that arent overwritable, and doesnt
hack the registry to take over system functions, so uninstall is never really necessary. Deleting the folder and shortcuts
is usually enough to remove it as well.

A new version will be out shortly, probably within a couple of days.. Just run the install and you should be fine.

Thx

Hi Art,
Awhile ago I made some indicator designs - I'm probably the only guy that uses them.  I ran a Gearotic update yesterday and when I went to apply one of my unique indicators -  they were gone.  Not a bit deal but is there any way I can recover them for myself?

Hi John:

Sorry about that, I didnt think I had the installer set to delete anything. There is one file it compies in, it then runs it as a self extractor with all my designs in it, but it shouldnt have deleted any of yours..  I cant think of any way to get it back though if it was destroyed. Ill check to see if theres anythign I can do about that possibility happening..
