version 2.3012 online

Post by ArtF »

Hi All:

Version 2.3012 adds snapping on 22.5 degree angle increments in GM, and repairs
many bugs in Auggie. Also, a Network Boost mode is added in Auggie if you find your
getting noisy motors. It may or may not fix the trouble and is a test mode. It can be
activated by setting "Network Delay" from 1 to 0 in the Axis config dialog under
Planner. This boosts network traffic to the Pokeys from 1Mb to about 10mb, so it
may load your network a bit, but for direct connections on slower computers it may offer
a more reliable connection.. If you dont have problems with motion, I recommend you leave it
on "1" so the network load is less.

Thx

Just a note, Auggie users should redownload, inadvertantly the CV was locked to on in that last version.

Thx

Hi Art

I downloaded & installed the latest version.  I've been trying out the caged gear function and wonder if the behavior captured in the attached CageGearQuestion.gth is normal (I had to zip the .gth file to send it.).  The behavior also existed in the previous release.

When I add a caged gear as the first gear in a new project  all of the pins are created.

When I create a new project with a circular gear and then add a caged gear the gear rim has holes but no pins are created.

When I then add the mating pinion to the pin-less cage gear and then add another cage gear attached to that the pinion the cage gear is created with pins.

Am I misinterpreting how the cage gear function is supposed to act?

Bill

Hi Bill:

Nope, that would be a bug. Sorry about that, Ill fix that up tomorrow, a side effect of some recent change I suspect. Looks like the pins are being ignored for some reason..

Thx for the notification..

Hi Art

Would it also be possible to add a feature to reverse the orientation of the cage wheel sort of like is done for bevel gears?
