New install of Win7 and I am now installing all my CNC software.
Mach3 and CamBam installed and run ok but for what ever reason Gearotic 3.0
or even 2.0 won't run. It appears to install ok but trying to open it I get an
error and all I can do is close it. Auggie is the same, won't run.
I have Gearotic in root folder so running as admin should not be necessary but
even tried that, no cigar. Tried running compatibility mode running in WinXP SP3 still won't
run.
Other ideas?
Thanks
Bruce

Re: 3.0 not running
Bruce;
For what its worth, have you tried running vcredist ( Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package install runtime component) ? I know it was an issue for some in the past with a new OS install, maybe the same is happening for you here?. You can get the file from Microsoft, or you can use the one we supplied in your Gearotic folder to make it easier? You'll need to run vcredist_64 if you have a 64bit system, or run vcredist_86 for 32bit system. Run the file appropriate for your system, then re-install Gearotic. Hope this helps..
Cheers

Re: 3.0 not running
Bob tnx the reply.
The last screen you see when installing Gearotic it asks via a check box if you want "vcredist_86" file to run/load ( in my case it's a 32 bit system ).
I might go back and try running that file again just in case it isn't really being run.
If that doesn't work I will settle with what I have and test Mach3 and CamBam and make sure they are really working. I have several PC's around here
and hate having to go between buildings to run programs on different PC's. This PC I am having issues with I want to use out in the garage on my
larger G0704 CNC mill that I have plans to rebuild.
