Hi all:

  Gearotics developer version has been updated. While Gearotic is the same,
Vexx has been updated with many fixes. It now allows grouping of contours,
( simple select any number of contours and use the edit menu to group them).
 
  Once grouped, contours will select as one entity, and will not affect snipping
or trimming of other contours. Also, a grouped set will remember the centering point slected by the optional centering dot for scaling, arraying and other tools.

  Groups can also be groups of groups, and when undoing a grouping, they will
revert back to original groups. Their is no limit for groups within groups  and they may nest to any depth.

  Groups may also be extruded quicky with a tool button to create instant STL's
of whatever you have drawn, so long as the group makes sense in an extrusion sense. More extrusion types will appear over time. Let me know if there are
particular typers of quick extrusions that may help you get more from your
3d printer.

  The ruler now shows angles as well as distances. Many trimming operations have been made more robust so editing is quicker and easier.

  Please let me know your experiences, I have one user with Win10 who seems
to have trouble getting it to install, as well as one microsoft Surface also refusing. I am now using a higher version compiler, so there may be some weirdness due to that. Ive been using Vexx alot for drawing here, and have been fixing annoyances as I do so. Let me know how your drawings work, or tools
that may help you get the drawing you wish.

  I will make another video soon to show some of the tricks within Vexx that
I use as I draw kinetic ideas here, or perhaps a new Ticker video if I manage to draw one I like.

I should have mentioned, that to extrude, just select any group, and press the extrude button on the tools. You can set depth there. Once extruded, you can select an stl by
clicking any of its edges, just like you select a contour.
    If a single stl is selected, the save STL option in the menu will light up for
saving the solid as a binary stl file. You can remove an stl by re-extruding it
with zero depth. STL's can be stretched or scaled just like the group can, just select
it twice and the transformation box will appear. Any center dot setting will be remembered
for that group.  If stretched or contorted to an extreme that wouldn't allow it to be extruded you may get weird effects.

Hi Art,
First I would like to thank you for the great program that, year after year, you are developing for us.
Regarding the latest version, I am using Win10-64 bits without any problem, other than having to execute setup file as
"Run as Administrator".
Take this opportunity to to wish a good year 2018  for all members of this forum.

  Good to know. I don't yet use Win10 except on a test computer I use
for special testing, I develop on Win7, so its good to know what the
various OS's are doing.
