I also have the DLL issue...Windows 10, 64.   Is there any way to download an earlier version of the software?

I've uninstalled the software and then did a clean install of the developmental Gearotics & Augie...the problem still existed.

I now know that Vexx is part of the Gearotics installation file.  I did another clean install with the "stable" version of Gearotics and Vexx worked.

The versions that I now have:
      Gearotics  3.07
      Vexx  2.23
      Augie 3.65

I have a comment regarding Win10 and virus detection that I'll post under an appropriate topic rather than here.

Hi All:

New version is uploaded. Re download and the Vexx problem should be solved. Inadvertently a debug version of
a new dll was used. SO unless you had the D.dll version of the Microsoft run-time it failed. This version should run alright.
Sorry for the headaches.

As to virus warning, I may try simply changing the name of the download, that seems to have worked
with Auggie when it was named AuggieSetup, simply renaming it to CoInstall.exe stopped the virus warnings.

I downloaded the new version and as expected it works.  By the way, I don't think that the name of the program has any bearing on it being flagged as a virus.

Bill:

You wouldn't think, but a while back I found I couldn't download Auggie's install
program as reported by a user. Wondering if there was a connection, I renamed it
to coinstall.exe, and have never had another complaint on it, and my chome could
then download it as well.

The thinking was that some AI somewhere linked the program name to a danger flag..

Either way, hasnt returned. :)

Hi Art
I'm having trouble getting the latest Vexx to open with error message "..... nlopt.dll not found"

Tried redownloading Gerortic and Auggie several times to no effect.

Hi John:

Sorry about that, nlopt is a new addition in the code so I may have missed something.

Can you tell me, is the file nlopt.dll in the Gearotic folder? Which method of install do you use,
the Setup.exe or the .msi installer?

Thx

John:

One further question, if you unzip the file attachment to this message ( nlopt.dll ) and put it in the
Gearotic folder with Vexx, does it now run?

Thx
Art

Hi Art
I use the Gearotic setup for installing.  I have re-installed the program several times as well as the coinstall download.

my gearotic motion file already contained a nlopt.dll but I replaced it with the file you sent.  Still not working.

Vexx is now looking for MSVR120.dll  and this file IS NOT in my gearotic motion folder.

could you send me that one?

John:

Thats odd. Thats a C++ runtime file, its not one gearotic installs.
Did you try running the C Runtime installer ? VC_RedistX... in your folder?

John:

You will need a runtime dependent on your version of windows ( 32 bit or 64 bit).
This page has the downloads for VS2017, 32 bit and 64 bit. Try installing the one appropriate
for your system, let me know if it succeeds.

Sorry John:

Your error for MSVR120.dll missing indicates you need the runtime gearotic uses.
This can be gotten from the same page listed as

Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2013

Gearotics install should give you the option of running the one in the program, but
probably best to try a fresh one from microsoft.

FYI:

The clubfoot module will be upgraded in a week or two to have impulse pallet, fork
and dart for those that would like to take that escapement to the next level.
