Release April 1 / 2017 - Auggie
Hi All:
New version of Auggie is released, version 3.1. This version fixes a bug where a dot
would be placed before and /or after each line of a photo in laser scanning.
A new command for laser drilling or impact engraver "G04 P.040 R50" translates to an
impact or laser power of 50% for 40ms . This occurs only if M3 is active and laser mode
is on. This command has a different meaning if used
while a photo augment is loaded, the laser or impact time is then specified by the
command "G04 P40 R1" which means the photo engraver will redo the message for
a maximum time of 40ms at a max power of 100% ( grey scale 0xff) to a minimum
power of 0. ( grey scale 0 at 1ms). This type of half tone image Gcode can now be put out
by the image processor under the "half-tone" selection. Grid and max time in ms is
settable at time of augment generation.
A bug is fixed where G0X10 would fail due to the "0x10" being taken as hex number 10
and the program simply translated it to G16. If a space was between G0 and X10, no
error was seen.
Changes to the multiline script window werent accepted till after next run, this is repaired
and changes are seen at execution time.
Error output in log is simplified for easier to read log file.
This only affect Auggie, and the Auggie install is now uploaded to
the downloads page.
Thx
Art

Thanks Art, I look forward to trying out the new halftone options.

Re: Release April 1 / 2017 - Auggie
Hi Art,
I have been unable to download the Auggie CNC Addon as Windows Defender flags the trojan Spursint.F!cl is present. Current Development 3.xxx downloads just fine, does that contain the latest Auggie additions that you have mentioned ?

It seems its an AI thing in defender. I removed all files and still got the error. I then renamed the install and it is fine.
Try again and let mw know if it works.
Thx

Hi Tweaky:
I discovered an error due to half-tone code, you may want to hold off
attempting it, I should have a fix out tomorrow.

Hi Tweaky:
It is fixed and uploaded. I also downloaded and installed to make sure. All seems good. Tested a halftone image and it too
looks good.

Heres a photo for a power 30ms halftone on a 1.75 matrix done on paper
as a test. If you zoom in you can see the individual shot pattern.

Re: Release April 1 / 2017 - Auggie
Hi Art,
The Auggie download works just fine now and Windows Defender sleeps.
However, I am having problems...
In Augs I load an image and select Half Tone. The .tap & .aug files are created and saved OK.
The Gcode line "G04 P20 R1" seems to give me a 20 second dwell and R1 does not fire the laser.
Obviously I am doing something wrong but for the moment it defeats me.

Re: Release April 1 / 2017 - Auggie

I will investigate that today and see whats wrong.
The G04P20R1 for safety becomes simply a G04P20 in the case where
an augment is not loaded or if the position of the G04 is not within the
limits of the photo. I did this so no radiation comes out if something
goes wrong. I tested this yesterday and everythign worked well, but I'll
double check it to see where I may have messed up.
I take it the AUG light was on and the LaserReady was flashing after the
M3 was seen? If so it shoullhave translated the dwell from 40 to .040
and tranlated the power from R1 to 0-100 based on photo density.
It really shouldnt give you a dwell unless no image was loaded. Ill
check out why this might mess up.
Thx

I just uploaded version 3.21 , I tested it in several photos and have changed a few
things. Do NOT run a previously generated Aug file in halftone, the new protocol will
output the P parameter as .030 for 30 ms instead of P030.. Ive adjusted the internals
to this as well. This means the only question will be if you get depth based power output
and it wont do those long delays.
Let me know how this one tests.. It may be that my system is setup a bit differently
and Im missing the difference so far, but Ive added some safeties to try to stop it
from failing.
Thx
