I've been slowly collecting some mechanical reference books for my library, primarily for some creative inspiration, and I was wondering if anyone had any other titles they'd consider useful. I'm particularly interested in any collections of various linkages and/or gear sets.
What I have is:
Illustrated Sourcebook of Mechanical Components, by Parmley
Machine Devices and Components, by Parmley
1800 Mechanical Movements, Devices, and Appliances, by Hiscox
Mechanisms and Mechanical Devices, by Sclater and Chironis
507 Mechanical Movements, by Brown
Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Mechanical Books
The KMODDL site was developed with grants that have run out, and it is pretty much dead, but still there.

It's funny you posted that, as I just found that myself via some Wikipedia source citations.JustinO wrote: http://kmoddl.library.cornell.edu/bib.p ... hor&type=1

Re: Mechanical Books
I've found several recomendations for "Mechanisms in Modern Engineering Design," by Artobolevsky. Originally in Russion, but English translations (circa mid 70s) are available, and pretty expensive used. There's a couple of PDFs of the work on Scribd, I may check it out soon.
Re: Mechanical Books
The 7 vols by Artobolevsky are really interesting, too bad I can only find one volume online in English. You can download them at Scribd with a free trial, or find them here instead:
