Club Footed Escapement

Post by John T »

Hi Art,
This topic was brought up a couple of years ago and you mentioned that you would put in on the famous "list".

Any chance of seeing this revived?  I think its a great escapement and best of all can be built really easily adjustable.

John:

Any chance you have a link to the finer points of the design of one? What Ive found looks much like
the normal lever, ( slight differences..), but nothing thats very specific as to how to make one...

This discusses the construction of a club tooth escapement in some detail.  I'm not sure that's the same as a club foot.

Thanks Nate:

I had that one and had forgotten the club footed was in there. Im looking at adding this, its a bit more complex than
previous escapements, and may be harder to make for many. but it is a nice stable kind of mechanism. Looks interesting.
Ill see if my current level of stress management can handle simulating  another escapement. :)
