52 tooth XL pulley 4th axis problem

Post by Dan Mauch »

I have designed a 52 tooth XL pulley. Every time I click on 4th axis machining I get and Open GL error. I'm using version 3.0200

Hi Dan:

Just tested here with no trouble on a 52 tooth xl..
Does it work OK on smaller tooth counts?

I tried it on various smaller tooth pulleys and the same problem. Similarly, I tried run GM3.02 on my notbookk and it too gives me the open gl error.

Dan:

Can it be the tool you have selected having some weird setting?
Does the error go away with any of the tools? Is this a slit saw
or milling tool being selected as default?

My bad! When selected the 4th axis the tool was too large. I thought that when i selected the 4th axis i would be able to select the correct tool. So what surprised me was that instead of getting a tool to big error I got the Open GL error. So I raced down the the wrong rabbit hole chasing a non problem. Last night I figured out that the tool was too large and changed it. To avoid confusion by others I would suggest that the user would get a tool to big error instead of the opengl. Otherwise thanks for a great program.
