Will I be able to run Auggie Controller with my Shapeoko3, Windows10 and a USB
connection from my Shapeoko to PC?

Please advise?

Hi:

Im afraid I have no idea what a Shapeoko3 uses for firmware or software. Auggie will only drive
machines run with a Pokeys device running it. That can be a usb as well as network, but I
doubt very much that unit from what I read will work with anything other than the software
that comes with it. It would likely have to be retrofitted with a pokeys to work.
I read the manual, but it doesnt seem to tell me anything about its control electronics,
looks proprietary to me though.

Sorry,
Art

Thank you Art.

I think you are correct.  Shapeoko3 comes with
Carbide Design ( a very basic CAD program) and
Carbide Motion  (the controller).  CM works well with
Gearotics (I purchased this week, nice job Art).

Question please:
Tell me the easiest and least expensive (buying more software)
way to get a gear from Gearotic to my CNC machine for cutting (milling).

I have tried to save a path in Gearotic and then go to my controller, but
the resulting files has very sparse info and runs the machine for a few seconds
and says it is done???

I want to start building Wooden Gear Clocks (I have spent the last two weeks
reading for hours on end about all this stuff, my head is spinning).

I have watched many of your videos also.
Where are you located?  I am in South Florida.

Thank you for your help.

Richard;

Sounds to me like you selected too big of a tool bit for your toolpath?  Have you tried re-generating the tool path but with a smaller tool? How does that work for you?

Gearotic is located on the east coast of Canada.
