Spring Gears

I just ran across a link to a picture of a spring gear (Daid is the 3D slicer Cura's main developer).

Does this have any potential for reduced backlash 3D printed gears?  It might work as another spoke type, so no major development effort.

Something for the next development season's to-do list?

hhmmm.. Looks similar to "damper Spokes" , likely a similar effect.
