Hi Art,

Thank you for the excellent support. I went through the entire process and found that there were no discrepancies that needed to be changed. What I did discover is that microsoft access is not installed correctly on my computer and I will need to re-install access, it will not open. That may be what is causing the problem. I will not have a chance to do this until Monday. I will let you know.

Thanks again,
Bryant

I have just done a complete reinstall of windows 7 64 bit and I have the same error when trying to start Gearotic.  It was working before the format and reinstall...

The event log says..

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Gearotic Motion\Gearotic.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.OpenMP,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.21022.8" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

Edit: All solved... It is the Microsoft visual C++ 2008 SP1 x86 file that was needed...

just for the record , the 2008 x86 sp1 version of the c++ redistributables is needed for windows 8.1 also (for the side by side error)
