I trying to learn your system I saved a 2 gear file.
When I reopened the file the gears no longer meshed and would not rotate/
What did I do wrong and how do I fix or prevent this in the future.
thank you and have a merry Christmas.

Saving and opening a file
Re: Saving and opening a file
Hello Dan:
I havent seen this happen as of yet. Can you send me the project file with the error in it so I can analyse it and see why it happened?
Sorry for the bug,
Art

Re: Saving and opening a file
I would like to send you a file but I can no longer save an active document. I have tried highlighting some of the gears, all the gears and the project it's self.
the Icon just sits there and does not respond.
I am using the latest version 2.26300

Re: Saving and opening a file
I just told you a story but not on purpose. when I couldn't save a file I closed the program and reopened it. then I could save a file.
I found the one that is not in sync.

Re: Saving and opening a file
Hi Dan:
Not sure how it happened, but in your project the small "spur" got set as master. SO nothing runs as that
master has no linakge. Open that project, select the Pinion gear you have named as Master. Right click that gear in the project tree and select "Set as Master". That will set it back as master. Hit simulate and youll find it all runs fine.
To find such a problem for future use, in your example, when I pressed run, only one gear on the screen turned, nothting else moved. So I clicked it in the tree so its selected. Looking to its Linkage list, I saw it had no linkage. Clicking on the other gears I could see they were linked fine. So I figured the ony way that coudl happen is if the moving gear was master. So I clicked the one you had labeled as master and set it so. All then runs.
I do find it annoying that its not listed what gear is master, so Im adding that for next release so its clear what gear is actually doing the driving..
Thx

Dan:
My bad, the system DOES tell you the driver by adding -Driver to the master gear. But , somehow yours
got hosed. In your project it doesnt actually show a driver. Ill look into how that happened.. In the meantime, just select the correct gear and make it a master, all will then be well.
Thx
